Citicol contains citicoline, a neuroanabolic, regulator of neurotransmission. Citicoline stimulates the biosynthesis of the structural phospholipids of the neuronal membrane, thus improving the function of membrane mechanisms, such as the operation of ion exchange pumps and the receptors inserted in it, whose modulation is essential in neurotransmission.
Citicoline improves symptoms in situations of hypoxia and cerebral ischemia such as: memory loss, emotional lability, lack of initiative, difficulty in activities of daily living and personal care. Citicoline is also effective in the treatment of cognitive, sensory, motor, and neuropsychological disorders of degenerative or vascular etiology.
Indications
Citicol 500:
It is indicated for: Strokes in acute and subacute phase. Recent head injuries and their sequelae.
Citicol 100: (oral solution and tablets)
It is indicated as a complementary treatment in the manifestations of cerebral vascular insufficiency and its sequelae, both neurological, and those referred to decreased intellectual or psychological performance, such as: Memory loss, emotional lability, lack of initiative, difficulty activities of daily living and personal care.
Other indications: Parkinson’s disease, chronic intoxication of the central nervous system by alcohol, drugs or narcotic drugs, children with learning disorders.
Posology
Citicol – 500
Adults: 1-4 caplets per day, depending on the severity of the condition to be treated. This dose can be increased if the doctor considers it convenient.
Citicol – 100 (oral solution and tablets)
Adults: 100 to 200 mg (1-2 ml or 1-2 tablets) 2-3 times a day.
Children: 100 mg (1 ml or 1 tablet) 2 or 3 times a day. These doses may be modified according to optional criteria. 100 mg is recommended as a maintenance dose 3 times a day.

Warnings
