The pharmacologically active substance in Carboxil capsules is Sobrerol, which works by decreasing the viscosity of the mucus favoring the expulsion of the mucous plugs from the respiratory tract, without affecting the alveolar surfactant or the ciliary movements of the bronchiotracheal mucosa and without bronchioconstrictor effects.
Thanks to these characteristics, its low general toxicity and its good tolerance, Sobrerol is an effective and safe substance in all those disorders where the respiratory tract is obstructed or overloaded by an excess of mucus that hinders the normal flow of air.
Carboxil capsules therefore performs two basic activities:
- Cleanser, since it allows and facilitates the removal of mucous and mucopurulent secretions.
